Abdest alınırken mümkünse kıbleye karşı oturulur. Önce kollar dirseklerin yukarısına kadar sıvanır. "Niyet ettim Allah rızası için abdest almaya" diye niyet edilir. Eûzübillahimineşşeytanirracim, Bismillahirrahmanirrahim" denilir.
